Your Questions Answered
How long does shipping take?
expand_more
We ship between 1 and 3 business days, though some orders are shipped on the same day depending on when the order was placed. We use Royal Mail 48 Tracked, which means that after an order is received by Royal Mail, it should reach your home within 48 hours. Please note that during busier periods of the year, these delivery times may differ slightly.
I have a missing or incorrect wax melt in my package. What should I do?
expand_more
While we strive for 100% accuracy, we are human and mistakes can occasionally happen! If you find a scent is missing or you’ve received the wrong bar, please contact us at info@waxandwords.co.uk with your order number and a photo of the items that arrived. We will prioritise getting the correct melts sent out to you immediately.
Are your wax melts vegan-friendly and cruelty-free?
expand_more
Yes. Our wax melts are crafted using plant-based coconut wax, which is sustainable, biodegradable, and vegan-friendly. We also ensure that none of our ingredients, including our fragrance oils, are ever tested on animals.
How do I remove the old wax from my burner?
expand_more
The cleanest way to swap scents is to wait until the wax has completely cooled and hardened. Light your tealight (or turn on your electric warmer) for about 30 seconds - just long enough to loosen the base. The solid disc should slide out easily. Simply wipe the well with a paper towel to remove any remaining residue before adding a new scent.
PRO TIP: Use wax melt liners or silicone trays. This is the easiest way: once the melt is solidified inside the liner or tray, simply pop it out and discard. You can even use the old wax as a fire starter for your fireplace or fire pit!
Why is there "smoke" coming from my wax?
expand_more
In most cases, this is not smoke but fragrance vapour. When the oil is heated, it evaporates to release the aroma into the room. If the vapour is white and wispy, it is perfectly normal. However, if you see dark smoke, it may be a sign that your tealight is too large or the burner is getting too hot.
Can I use these melts around pets?
expand_more
While our wax melts are safe for general home use, it is important to ensure the room is well-ventilated. Some pets can be sensitive to certain strong fragrances or specific essential oils. We recommend keeping burners out of reach of curious paws and observing your pet for any signs of discomfort when trying a new scent.
Why is the top of the wax melt bar uneven?
expand_more
An uneven or slightly bumpy surface is actually proof that we use natural coconut wax. These "imperfections" are purely aesthetic and occur due to micro-variations in temperature while the wax is cooling, during storage, or even whilst being shipped to your home. It has absolutely no impact on the quality or the incredible scent throw of the melt.
Why do some bars have a slight difference in weight?
expand_more
This is due to the varying density of the fragrance oils we use; some oils are very thin, while others are quite thick. While this can cause micro-variations in the final weight, it does not impact the scent throw. We measure our oils using 0.001 precision scales to ensure the fragrance-to-wax ratio is perfect every single time.
